This year, the Human Rights Center is working on projects centered around trans rights in the local area. Our main project will be to partner with trans organizations in Harlem and provide any assistance they may need from us, and then to plan a teach-in with trans activists to bring local trans issues into the awareness of Columbia students. Our secondary project will be to research the history of Columbia’s excellent trans healthcare on campus, particularly focusing on the robust GHAP and Alice Health programs within the Columbia Health system, with the end goal of developing a guidebook to help activists at other campus learn from Columbia students' success and build out their own queer healthcare programs.
