This year, the Democratic Access center will engage in a yearlong project aimed at increasing electoral engagement among college-aged voters. This will start with a series of actions using the tactics of Relational Organizing to get politically-engaged students to register their friends to vote, help them request ballots on time, and make sure their votes are submitted before the November election. Following the general election, the center will pivot to a longer-term project of engaging Columbia students in the local politics of New York City, with a goal of increasing turnout in the New York City municipal primaries in the spring. Email Glynis (gao2123@columbia.edu) to get involved!
