This year, the Foreign Policy Center is making a comeback to investigate the sustainability of Columbia’s 11 Global Centers in Beijing, Paris, Tel Aviv, Rio, Nairobi, Santiago, Istanbul, Mumbai, Athens, Amman, and Tunis. Our main project will advocate and publish research pertaining to the local environmental, economic, and social impacts of the Centers. The end goal will be to establish more transparency around the new Centers, holding Columbia accountable to maintaining ethical relationships between global initiatives and their impacts on local communities. Throughout the semester, we will also supplement the Center’s mission by publishing editorials and literature that highlight progressive narratives in Foreign Policy magazine.
