Healthcare Center
Center Director:
This semester, the Healthcare Center will focus on two projects. The first is a report on the history of reproductive healthcare at Barnard and Columbia. Reproductive freedom is a crucial issue in today’s political climate—and Columbia, in many ways, has been ground zero for abortion and contraception access on campus. Our second project will focus on disability rights advocacy here in Morningside Heights. In collaboration with MHCC, we will push Columbia to continue the development of and build an elevator at the 125th Street subway station, ending decades worth of inaccessibility from 96th to 135th streets for mobility-restricted community members.
